We're officially homeless. The movers finished moving out our things around 3:00pm. We finished packing the remaining things for our road trip back to Canada shortly afterwards. Saying goodbye to our home in Salinas, California was harder than I expected.
Seeing the house empty reminded me of the house when we first moved in and how happy we were to be there. Now just a year and a half later after moving to Salinas, our California dream is over. We spent a total of five and a half years in California between San Jose and Salinas and have so many greay memories of our time here. After locking up for the last time, we headed over to our neighbor's house across the street for a final visit with Becky. While there, we watched the new owner's come and take ownership of the house. It felt strange to see another family walk into our house and to see their children playing in the yard. While it was a little hard to watch, they are a really nice family and we wish them the best. Tonight we're staying at a Hotel in town. First thing tomorrow morning we hit the road. We're going to try and enjoy the trip as much as possible and see as much as we can. Our goal for tomorrow is to reach Las Vegas.
We'll miss you, but hope and anticipating seeing you soon.
